What is RFID?

Published by admin 2021-08-16

RFID is a new type of non-contact automatic identification technology called electronic tags. This technology does not involve manual intervention and physical contact restrictions, and is extremely important for the establishment and coaxial development of a computer environment. In order to achieve automatic identification of target objects, the technology uses coupled transmission and radio frequency signals. The foundation of RFID is chip technology and radio technology. Antennas, tags, and readers together constitute the RFID system. This technology has the advantages of small restrictions on the working environment, the ability to recognize high-speed moving targets, the recognition of N targets, and the ease of operation. In the structure of the RFID system, the coaxial electronic tag is referred to as the tag, and it is also called rg402 the radio frequency tag. The control logic and radio frequency circuit are installed in the tag. With the development of more and more developed integrated technology, in the tag, the integrated chip Small in size, but more comprehensive and powerful in function. The interrogator is also called the reader, and its communication operation electronic tag is realized through the RFID protocol. The digital control unit and radio frequency module make up the reader. When the tag appears in the magnetic field, it starts to receive radio frequency signals, which originate from the reader, and the product information stored in the chip comes from the energy obtained by the induced current. The information is read by the reader and decoded, and the processing of related data is sent to the central information system for processing.

According to different frequencies, RFID technology systems are mainly divided into three types: high-frequency systems, intermediate-frequency systems, and low-frequency systems. Diversified shapes and low cost are the characteristics of the low-frequency system label, and the low-frequency system is located at a frequency of 100~500 kHz. The shortcomings of the low-frequency system: lack of effective and stable directions for reading antennas; unsatisfactory reading speed; coaxial relatively short reading distance; less data storage, etc. Therefore, it is rg402 mainly used in environments with low technical requirements, such as access control systems. The working frequency of the intermediate frequency system is 10~15 MHz. Compared with the low frequency system, the intermediate frequency system increases the reading distance, and the number of tag memory is relatively large, achieving a medium reading speed. But its shortcomings are the strong reading antenna, insufficient directivity, high cost of readers and tags, etc. Therefore, the working environment of smart cards and access control systems is suitable for the use of intermediate frequency systems. The soft substrate is the shape of the label of the high-frequency system. Compared with the previous two types of systems, the high-frequency system further increases the memory of the label. The advantage is that the reading speed is fast and the distance is long. The disadvantage is that readers rg402 and tags have a high cost. High-frequency systems are used in retail systems and monitoring train wagon systems.
