What's the difference between low PIM,low loss phase stable and ordinary cable?

Published by admin 2022-08-08

Low PIM Coaxial Phase Stable Cable or Low Passive Intermodulation Distortion (PIM) cable is an assembly consisting of a low PIM coaxial connector and a low PIM coaxial cable. Low PIM indicates that the connector and/or cable has passed the PIM test standard and that the PIM reading will be below an acceptable threshold when subjected to PIM test signal interference. Passive components in a system can directly cause high PIM levels, which can interfere with the quality of the communication signal, so it is often necessary to provide low PIM components when necessary. In general, for communication systems that may be affected by high PIM values, the PIM value needs to be reduced, and one way to do this is to replace the existing coaxial Phase Stable Cable with a low PIM coaxial Phase Stable Cable.

ZOMWAVE Low PIM Coaxial Phase Stable Cable connector types are 4.3-10, 7/16 DIN, 4.1/9.5 mini-DIN and N type, and all types of connectors also include their right angle configuration. These high quality cables have low insertion loss and excellent VSWR performance, are 100% RF and PIM tested, and the PIM test results are marked on the cable.
In addition to DAS systems, these Phase Stable Cables are ideal for indoor wireless systems, wireless infrastructure, multi-carrier communication systems, WISP networks, small cell equipment, and PIM testing applications.

As the name suggests, the outstanding advantage of low loss series cable is low loss. In addition, this series Phase Stable Cable has good flexibility, wear resistance, salt spray resistance, etc. It is used for transmission line of various radio equipment in electronic countermeasures, field communication, navigation, tracking and other systems.
The low loss coaxial Phase Stable Cable is similar to the low PIM Phase Stable Cable, except that it has been specially designed and tested to ensure that the insertion loss of the coaxial cable is below a specific threshold value. Insertion loss is the electromagnetic (EM) energy lost when sending a signal from one end of a coaxial Phase Stable Cable to the other. In some applications, such as high-sensitivity receivers, it is desirable to minimize the loss from the antenna to the low-noise amplifier, as any increase in loss may adversely affect the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
