The 3.5 mm connector is a heavy duty coaxial connector that provides mode free operation up to 34 GHz. This pin and socket type connector has an air dielectric filled interface and with an outer conductor diameter of 3.5 mm. This connector interface compatible with SMA and 2.92mm connectors and is capable of handling repeated mating cycles without damage. The 3.5 mm connector was developed by Hewlett Packard in the mid-1970s and was later marketed by Amphenol as APC3.5.
